Serenity Springs

Have you every wanted to play with a lion or a tiger before? I know for me it was always on my bucket list. I had been to zoo’s before and always wanted to get closer and have an interaction. Well I stumbled upon a facility East of Colorado Springs that offers a chance of a lifetime. It’s called Serenity Springs and they are a big cat and exotic animal rescue / retirement home for these amazing creatures. I took the tour one super cold Sunday morning in December with my family and friends. The main draw for us was they had lion cubs available for family photos for the holidays. Having a new baby at the time we figured it would be the perfect opportunity for a killer Happy Holidays from our family to yours photo.

As you can see it was a wonderful photo and great experience. I quickly became friends with the owners over our love for working with exotic animals and worked out a trade where I would bring some snakes and a gator to their big yearly event in July and they would bring a couple cubs to our Gator Fest Gator Rodeo in August.  My gf, daughter and I all worked their fundraiser, it was a very long and hot day but at the end of the day the owner Nick asked if we would like some play time with a white tiger cub and the two lion cubs. We were rejuvenated with energy and spent the next 30 minutes taking turns and having the time of our lives.  If you’ve never been given kisses from a lion or had a tiger try and bear hug your leg then you are truly missing out. When we had Serenity Springs come out to the gator farm it was a huge success. They brought the lion cubs and a baby tiger that was born the night before the event we helped with in July. Many people came out that day to see all the animals and had a wonderful time.  I highly recommend checking out Serenity Springs and checking play with a big cat off of your bucket list. I’m super excited to be organizing a group outing for The Bucket List life. I can’t wait to share these experiences with so many like minded adventures.
